Aside from lack of sleep...
…Lithuania has been awesome so far.  Even better is the fact that the rest of Europe is supposedly much better.  Nothing better than a crescendo that started at mf.  Another couple days of economics and Klaipeda and it is off to Russia.  How sweet life is.

My apologies
I believe I misled my plethora of followers when I stated I was back to begin blogging again.  The unfortunate truth here is that I must contradict those words by giving you these new ones;  I am hanging up the blogging towel.  Just recently I’ve realized how little I really have to say.  I have come to terms with the fact that I am not yet a writer.  I’ve made my peace.  I suggest you...

A word I just invented to describe the look someone has as understanding washes over their face.  Some other words might work for parts of the experience a but I think a new one is necessary to encompass this occurrence. Not only is there the relief and joy at having made their discovery but also the distant gaze that follows as the implications of that knowledge seep into the mind and take root...

Short on Time
I just got a crash course in inorganic chemistry and it has again brought to light the fact that I do not have the time nor means to absorb all there is to be known.  It’s like a bad joke.

Oh I pity them.
Those who do not have families as entertaining as mine.  A barrage of entertainment often goes unnoticed but I was struck today as my mother spent time smelling snails to make sure they were alive.  It is definitely the little things.

Chivalrous Return
Sorry to have kept all of my readers on the edge of their seats for the last 10 months but I was preoccupied with life. I now return to emblazon my thoughts in your minds. Enjoy.

I'm a Martian
Partially because i’m in China surrounded by A LOT of people that don’t look like me, and partially because people are all nut-cases.  At least i’m a good looking martian haha

Its amazing what a major sickness can do between friends.  You know, hanging out, extremely sick… instant camaraderie. Blessings pour from heaven.

Miscommunication
Its odd to me and pretty sobering that absolutely no one in the world actually knows what I’m talking about (and no I’m not pulling the dramatic card).  Everyone has their own perception of an event and no matter how much we try and relate to each other there is still that breakdown of communication.  I wondering if one day this obstacle will be hurdled.  The implications are something...

The world awaits
So its 3:30 in the morning and another sleepless night is upon me.  Working on a direction for life.  Ahh, but to have a glance at the future.  The only comforting this around here is my good friend Dave.  This guy never lets me down. -Jacque

14 courses and 2 Dutch later...
Wow, i’m not sure if I’m even going to be able to get this all down, but of course I’ll try. Last night was the eve of the Chinese New year and to celebrate we were invited to the campus’ largest dining hall to have dinner.  Expecting a ticky tacky show and some cafeteria food, I came in with the wrong mentality completely.  The cafeteria was unrecognizable under a...

Good Golly
ITunes U might just be my new favorite thing this way of the Yangtze River. (China Humor)  It now features classic literature available for download (free).  Please check this stuff out (if you have any desire to round yourself out).  No more parenthesis for me, just The Prince.  Check it.

We at the combination Pizza Hut and Taco Bell.
So last night we went classic american and checked out the local Chinese Pizza Hut.  Now, some of you may be saying, wow, thats just not right.  Let me assure you, it was quite correct.  This Pizza Hut reminded me of a high class restaurant in the states, from the ritzy spiral staircase as you walk in, right down to the gleaming marble floors.  (The prices were scarily reminiscent too…Yikes)...

Just call me Au Pair extraordinaire.
Because I really want to go live in Europe I am looking into a program where I would be looking after German, French, or Italian children for a living.  I really hope that no one ever says that I can’t adapt.

Riddle me this...
Does one give one’s life in pursuit of a cause that is seemingly the ultimate risk/reward or instead, live their lives arbitrarily (and in all probability more enjoyably) and see where that takes them?

Guanxi...and thats that
Today I learned (it was brought to my attention that I know nothing about) guanxi.  From what I can gather it refers to a network of relationships that everyone has and that needs to be maintained throughout ones life.  A tall task and yet some say it is more valuable to a business man than any type of currency.  An intriguing thought for western culture.  Place people over possessions and see how...

Heres to you Mao!
We finally got internet in the room and it is beautiful.  Now I should be able to keep in contact much better.  We also had our first thunderstorm yesterday and it was beautiful (even though it lasted all day and into the night).  Even though there have been several gargantuan events recently (including the ones just mentioned), the one that took the cake was at dinner last night.  We went to a...

New Project
I am now working on getting internet in my room to save myself the trouble of going to internet cafes all the time.  This will enable better internet output and should also save money.  Still working on this whole Chinese thing but i’ve reached that great point where I kind finally pick out words even if I don’t know what they are.  YES!  Besides that i’m just pondering what the...

Finally I am back online and able to post.  Sorry it took me so long but there were certain things getting in the way.  Due to my cunning (help from Chinese students) I am able to let ya’ll know that I’m doing well.  Recently i’ve just been working on my chinese as I explore this deserted university.  Everyone is home from break since the New Year is coming soon so I’ll...

Onward
Last night was our last hooray in HK and we made it great.  Keith, Sam, Aaron and I made our way to the peak overlooking HK island for nice shots of sunset and city lights.  After exploring the peak and having a scrumptious dinner at BK :) (oh how I needed a burger) we hit up the city streets to mingle with our cantonese speaking peeps.  It was a great night on the town.  Today is going to be a...

Way to be a Hassle
So far today I have had class looking over the chinese language through a linguistic lens, a lecture on Christianity in China, and lunch.  To ruin all the pleasantries, I now have to design a new website with the hope that it isn’t restricted in China.  The domain is ChristopherSchroeder.snappages.com.  However, I wouldn’t get to crazy about looking at it yet because it isn’t...

Not Good
Doesn’t look like im going to be able to post on tumblr in China now either.  Essentially getting information to people in the states is going to be difficult.  Hopefully I can find an alternative.  If not, i’ll see ya’ll when I get back.

Come on now HK
The internet here in the HK public library is about as sketch as it gets, probably because it is bearing the burden of an overpopulated city.  This place bustles like I never thought a library could. Go Chinese education!  The only reason I mention it is because it has made it difficult for me to keep in contact.  On top of that, i’ve been a little under the weather lately.  Thanks to a...
